Took me a few years, but finally made it to Paris. I gotta say, now I know why the French have a reputation for being snooty. Their capital is an amazing city. Great public transportation (and restrooms!) is a perfect cap to a city full of amazing architecture, public spaces, and history. The only knock… way too much smoking. It killed a bit of the outdoor brasserie mood for me, but otherwise. Bravo or however you say Bravo in French.

Seriously, Id like to see Rush spend a few weeks outside his Florida “green zone” hanging out with the unemployed folks in Flint, MI.

Name drop: I met Michael Moore about 15 years ago when I worked at CMJ and he was part of a panel on grassroots organizing and student activism. I remember he spent a lot of time after the panel talking to students about causes. He was genuinely interested in what they had to say. You may disagree with him, but he’s no phony.
